Young wildlife biologists gathered at the Ranch on Saturday, April 1, to learn all about Northern Bobwhite Quail from Texas Tech University Quail-Tech and how researchers are helping this species through various conservation practices. Young biologists learned about quail nesting, brooding, foraging, loafing, roosting and predators through hands-on activities and experiences.

“For many ranchers, the Northern Bobwhite Quail is a treasured rangeland inhabitant. Unfortunately, bobwhite populations are declining throughout their historic range in Texas.” – Dr. Brad Dabbert, Burnett Foundation Endowed Professor of Quail Ecology.
