Thank you for celebrating the holidays at the 44th Annual Candlelight at the Ranch that took place December 9 and 10 at the National Ranching Heritage Center in Lubbock.

Friday evening saw a little fog and precipitation, but Saturday evening was a beautiful starry night. Across both nights, more than 8,000 of you came to celebrate Christmas on the frontier!

More than 200 volunteers made this year’s Candlelight possible by serving hot cocoa and apple cider, trail guiding, singing and bringing each structure to life. Candlelight would not be possible without the dedicated Ranch Hosts and volunteer groups.

Your support enables us to continue telling the real stories and heritage of real ranches and real people.

To learn more about Candlelight at the Ranch and the Christmas traditions portrayed on the early frontier, watch the video below narrated by Red Steagall that aired in 2020 on PBS through Texas Tech Public Media.
