Many thanks are in order, to those both near and far, for making the 45th Annual National Golden Spur Award Honors an occasion to remember. The honorees for the National Golden Spur Award [Craig Haythorn] and RHA Working Cowboy Award [Jimbo Humphreys] were recognized on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts & Sciences in Lubbock, Texas. The night was filled with friendship, fellowship, food and fun!
Thank you to the honorees, Craig Haythorn and Jimbo Humphreys, for their myriad contributions to ranching and livestock industries and to their families for their unwavering support—on this night and every other. Be sure to watch the videos below produced by Ultralite films about Mr. Hayhtorn and Mr. Humphreys; in these videos, you’ll see just how important family is to both gentlemen.
Thank you to the event’s sponsors and supporters for making this celebration possible: El Dorado Holdings, Inc. and The Cash Family Foundation. And thank you Victory Bank for providing the cash gift for the RHA Working Cowboy Award.
Thank you to the six organizations that select the National Golden Spur Award recipient each year: American Quarter Horse Association, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Ranching Heritage Association, Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, Texas Cattle Feeders Association, and Texas Farm Bureau. We thank you for shining a spotlight on the deserving individuals who receive this honor.
Thank you to our special presenters, Justin McKee, Red Steagall and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, and musical talents, Trent Willmon and Red Steagall and the Bunkhouse Boys.
And thank YOU to everyone who joined us for the evening and for everyone who has supported us from afar. Thank you for helping honor these deserving recipients who continue our ranching legacy and thank you for all you do to preserve our ranching traditions.
We are already looking forward to next year’s celebration!
