On October 5, 2024, the ranching and livestock communities joined together for the 46th Annual National Golden Spur Award Honors in Lubbock, Texas. A capacity crowd of 600 ranchers, farmers, and friends honored the 2024 National Golden Spur Award recipient, Stephen J. “Tio” Kleberg, and the 2024 Ranching Heritage Association Working Cowboy Award recipient, Joe N. “Buzz” Thorp. The Honors are presented annually by six of the nation’s leading ranching and livestock organizations: American Quarter Horse Association; National Cattlemen’s Beef Association; Ranching Heritage Association; Texas Cattle Feeders Association; Texas Farm Bureau; and Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.
