RECIPIENT

Ed Ashurst is a working cowboy who has ridden and gathered cattle and horses on over 7,000 square miles of the American West and accumulated more than 50 years of experience as a big ranch cowboy in Arizona and New Mexico. He has worked on over 20 different ranches in his career. Ashurst has served as the president of the Arizona Cowpunchers Rodeo numerous times and has been a contestant in several events. In addition, Ashurst has written 12 books stemming from his experiences in the saddle.
