Joe N. “Buzz” Thorp has spent nearly his entire life as a cowboy, starting at age seven alongside his father in Throckmorton County, Texas. After earning a degree in animal husbandry from Texas Tech, he built a career that took him to Tennessee, Montana, and New Mexico. Returning to Texas, he worked on the R.A. Brown Ranch and Wagon Creek Spade Ranch. Now in his 90s, Thorp is recognized as an outstanding horseman, stockman and teacher.
