NRHC Photo Submission Official Rules

Although the photo contest is sponsored by the Ranching Heritage Association (RHA), the contest is open to both RHA members and any ranch owners or employees who are 18 or older and residing in the United States. Contest participants who are 18 or older may upload high-resolution photos (300 dpi or above) online or to scott.white@ttu.edu for submission to the Ranch Portrait Project. Entrant’s name and contact information, ranch name and location, and brief description of photo content should be included in the email along with the photo.

Photos should represent a favorite image of the ranch or family associated with the ranch.

Those who have selected submissions under consideration for inclusion in the exhibit could be contacted for more information about their photo submission. Photos should represent a favorite image of the ranch or family associated with the ranch.

If the photo submitted contains a youth, the entrant submitting the photo must be the parent or legal guardian of the youth in the photo or must provide written permission from the parent or legal guardian of the youth to submit the photo to the NRHC.

 

By submitting an entry, you agree to the NRHC’s Authorization for Use of Likeness or Image policy.

 

Photos may only be of professional quality if the photographer submitting the photo is the professional. No other professional photos will be accepted unless accompanied by a signed release from the photographer.

Please submit your high-resolution photo images by June 1, 2020, with information about the ranch and who is submitting it. If your image is selected for inclusion in the exhibit, you will be notified by phone or email by June 15.

By submitting an image of your ranch, you agree that the NRHC and those acting under the NRHC’s authority may use the owner’s name, picture/portrait likeness and/or voice for advertising and promotional purposes without further consideration, unless prohibited by law.

By making a submission, you also agree that the NRHC, its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of the NRHC’s officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents, will have no liability whatsoever for, and will be held harmless by you for any liability associate with any injury, loss or damages of any kind due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the acceptance, possession, use or misuse resulting from participation in this project.

NRHC assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, submitted images. The NRHC is not responsible for any problems, failure or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or submission to be received by the NRHC on account of technical problems, internet traffic congestion or at any website, any combination thereof, or otherwise, including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the contest. The NRHC is not responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, stolen or misdirected submissions. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the contest may be in violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the NRHC reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
