Students learn about Wells Fargo stagecoaches in the Wild West and the challenges of transporting valuables while avoiding outlaws. They explore how people overcame these obstacles in early Texas transportation.

TEKS: Social Studies TEKS 4.4(A): Describe the impact of railroads, cattle trails, and other transportation on Texas development. Social Studies TEKS 4.20(A): Identify and use primary and secondary sources to learn about Texas history.
NCSS: NCSS Theme 2 – Time, Continuity, and Change: Students examine historical events and how people adapted to challenges in the past. NCSS Theme 3 – People, Places, and Environments: Students understand how geography and environment influence transportation and human activities.
