On October 10, 2026, the ranching and livestock communities joined together for the 48th Annual National Golden Spur Award Honors in Lubbock. Together, we honored the 2026 National Golden Spur Award recipient, Terry Stuart Forst, 2026 Ranching Heritage Association Working Cowboy Award-West recipient, Kyle Best, and 2026 Ranching Heritage Association Working Cowboy Award-East recipient, Arlon Baize.
The Honors are presented annually by six of the nation’s leading ranching and livestock organizations: American Quarter Horse Association; National Cattlemen’s Beef Association; Ranching Heritage Association; Texas Cattle Feeders Association; Texas Farm Bureau; and Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.
