C.T. and Claire McLaughlin Arbor

Originally a brush arbor, the attractive McLaughlin Arbor and Memorial Grove features concrete flooring, lantern-like light fixtures and teak benches in an open-air setting. The arbor is located at a bend in the sidewalk in the most traveled part of Proctor Park. It is one of the NRHC’s non-historical structures, for use by the public as a rest area. Adjacent to the Arbor on the east is the Pioneer Memorial Grove, comprised of tall shade trees under which are comfortable benches. The arbor honors the memory of prominent Texas oilman C.T. McLaughlin and his wife, Claire, who owned the Diamond M Ranch in Snyder.
