Children’s Guide to the NRHC
A student-friendly guide designed to support exploration of the National Ranching Heritage Center.
This resource introduces key themes of ranching history—including the Great Plains, early settlement, cattle drives, ranch life, and modern agriculture—through short readings, visuals, and interactive activities.
Students engage with real historic structures across the park while making connections between land, people, and industry. Activities like mapping cattle trails, solving problems, and observing artifacts encourage active learning during or after a visit.
