Weather Card Sort: Activity 1, Ranch Life Book 4: Ranch Weather

In this hands-on activity, students use visual clues to identify seasons on a working ranch.

After reading selected sections of Ranch Weather, students sort images that represent weather events, ranch work, and seasonal changes. They use observation and discussion to justify their thinking and connect what they see to real ranch life.

Use it for:

  • Introducing seasons and weather patterns
  • Small group collaboration and discussion
  • Integrating science and social studies concepts

This activity builds observation, reasoning, and connection-making skills while helping students understand how seasons shape life and work on a ranch.
