Ranch Life Cycles: Activity 5, Ranch Life Book 1: Ranching & Livestock

Students explore the stages of life for plants and animals commonly found on a ranch and examine how each stage contributes to the overall health of the ecosystem.  After reading Chapter 4 (pages 11–22), students complete a sequencing activity to compare and contrast life cycles among different organisms, including cattle, chickens, and grass. This lesson reinforces scientific observation, classification skills, and how environmental factors influence growth and survival on the ranch.
