Weather on the Ranch: Activity 6, Ranch Life Book 1: Ranching & Livestock
Students investigate how different types of weather affect daily ranch operations, livestock, and vegetation. As they read Chapter 5 (pages 23–28),they observe cause-and-effect relationships between rainfall, drought, wind, and temperature. The activity introduces foundational meteorology concepts while emphasizing critical thinking about adaptation and resource management. In the bonus activity, students watch interviews with ranchers and land managers who share real-world experiences about drought followed by guided discussion using a question sheet to analyze impacts and solutions.
