Heading to the Cattle Market: Activity 8, Ranch Life Book 1: Ranching & Livestock

Students explore how geography, climate, and cattle characteristics influence the cattle market in Texas and beyond. After reading Chapter 6 (pages 29–42), students examine how regional conditions affect ranching practices, transportation routes, and the sale of livestock. Through guided activities, they analyze how environmental and economic factors shape supply and demand in agricultural systems. Bonus resources, including the Regions of Texas slides and worksheet, help students connect physical geography with agricultural production and trade.
