A Year in the Life of a Cow: Activity 10, Ranch Life Book 1: Ranching & Livestock

Students investigate how seasonal changes influence the behavior, health, and survival of livestock. Through reading and discussion, students identify how shifts in temperature, precipitation, and forage availability affect a cow’s needs for food, shelter, and care. This lesson connects life science concepts with real-world ranch management decisions, helping students understand adaptation and resource planning across the ranching year.
