Animals I May Have to Rescue Plato From: Activity 1, Ranch Life Book 3: Ranch Wildlife

Students observe and classify large ranch animals by examining their physical traits, habitats, and behaviors. As they read Chapter 2 (pages 2–15), learners work through a sorting activity to identify which animals might interact with or pose challenges for pampered pets like Plato the dog. This lesson encourages critical thinking, observation, and classification skills while helping students understand the role of large wildlife species in a balanced ranch ecosystem.
